Hafren Rally Entries open Sunday 1st October

Entries for this years Freestyle Bikes Hafren Rally scheduled for Sunday 5th November will open on Sunday 1st October.  Local Yamaha & Husqvarna dealership Freestyle bikes in Newtown have continued their sponsorship of this years event.

Entries will only be available online using the ACU online entry system please read the Supplementary Regulations prior to completing your online entry, this will give you more info on classes etc.

Planning for this event is well underway, and format will be very similar to previous years. Start will be at the superb all weather Sweet Lamb motorsport complex, which offers guaranteed hard standing parking whatever the weather.  Lap length will be approximately 50 miles, consisting of open moorland, gravel roads, and forestry tracks and trails, with 3 special stages, with plenty of spectacular Mid Wales countryside. It will include a few more challenging optional routes on the liaison sections. Entry fee is £75 and there will be separate classes for rally, trail and enduro bikes (no MX bikes) and a beginners class for the new comers/less confident riders. The beginners class will do the same course, but will be expected to complete a lap less and will start at the back of the entry so they are not riding amongst the quicker riders.

As this is a fun social event, there will be a social get together on the Saturday evening where there will be a buffet and bar laid on to give everybody a chance to have a chat and a few beers, not too many mind!
Entry limit has been reduced to 180 riders. This event usually fills up quickly, so please get your entries in quickly to avoid disappointment.
We would like to say a big thanks to Wyn at Freestyle for sponsoring the event, please support those who support our sport.

Looking forward to my first rally, even though it comes towards the end of my riding career. Will there be camping available (caravan) at the start area. Thank you, and I hope all goes well with your event.

Hi Colin, yes there is camping available at the start, it is pretty bleak up there, but should be fine in a caravan.

Hi can you advise what the rider classes will be this year, we have a few of us entering and would like to ride together in the same group. Many thanks.

Hi Peter, see link to the regs on this page for full list of classes, although we dont not split the classes they are mixed up, we work the start order on the ability scoring 1-10, and any ride near requests. Hope that makes sense.

    Hi
I was hoping to enter my nephew into the event who is 16 to join me but the online ACU entry states 17+ whereas your supplementary regs state the age limit as being 16? Is there any way I can get him an entry?
    Thanks
    Mike

      Hi Mike

The regs are in line with the ACU handbook, and the event is open to riders over the age of 16, but for some reason i cant get the online entry system to lower the age below 17. Please leave this with me and ill get onto the ACU tomorrow and see if they can help me with this.

      Thanks Rowan

Hi Mike, ACU have helped us resolve the issue, the age limit has now been lowered to 16, so you should able able to enter him.

  8. David Evans

    Hello,
A group of us have entered the Hafren Rally and were wondering if you could put us together in the number order?
Steve Hague from Glossop, Mark Wilson, Dave Leach and Richard Robinson from the Isle of Man and me, David Evans from Farndon, Chester. We all have similar riding ability and would be in the fast/expert group. If you could please let me know it would be much appreciated. Sorry if Mark has already emailed asking the same question!
