Hafren Dirt Bike Club held the penultimate round of the Mid Wales Centre Trials Championship at the new venue of Glynhafren, Llanidloes on Sunday 22nd November. Despite the preceding very wet weather the sections set out in the rocky streams and wooded banks held up very well and the cool sunny conditions on the day were welcomed by riders and observers. Newly signed Top Trial Team rider Iwan Roberts took a clear win in the experts, after having some unfamiliar pressure on the first lap from runner up local ace Hugo Jervis and ex Welsh Champion Gwynedd Jones, all Beta mounted. Rhayader’s William Owens took the Inter win with grass track specialist Nathan Morton in second. Simon Morgan , displaying the number 1 plate, made it count to lead the Clubmen home, with Glynhafren born enduro ace Ed Jones coming in a close second just pipping the experienced Mike Rapely who made the long trip down from Kendal to visit his good friend Geraint Jones worthwhile. The Sportsman class was a tight battle between friends with Jamie Carroll coming out on top on this occasion from Rhys Evans and Dave Williams.
